Pitlochry is a very quaint town in the county of Perthshire in Scotland. We pretty much stumbled upon it as the place was initially not in our road trip itinerary across Scotland – it was recommended to us by a frontdesk staff of a Travelodge that we stayed in Inverness. The town is one of our favourite places to visit in Scotland. It is about 70 miles north of Edinburgh. Tip: A roadtrip across the eastern part of Scotland (e.g. Pitlochry and Edinburgh) can be combined with routes across the Scottish Borders and North East England.

In addition to the Pitlochry high street, there is also a very posh and upscale department store in Pitlochry (House of Bruar) which sells tweed clothing, outdoor wear, gifts and food products. It is widely acknowledged as Scotland’s most prestigious independent shopping store.
